Anonymity and zero-knowledge
What the handler can and cannot see. Why your identity is protected.
Vocea is a zero-knowledge platform: report content is encrypted on your device and the server only stores ciphertext it cannot read.
- You can report fully anonymously.
- If you choose to leave your identity, it travels in a separate encrypted compartment, readable only by authorised people.
- The server does not record your IP address.
Mind the details: even anonymously, very specific facts (e.g. “I was the only person on shift that day”) can make you identifiable. The AI assistant warns you about risky phrasing.
Channels are not equivalent: the web channel (or embedded widget) provides the strongest technical anonymity. If your organization offers WhatsApp, it is a 'protected-identity' channel: your number is never shown to the organization, but the message passes through WhatsApp/Meta systems and a delivery hub before being encrypted, so it is not technically anonymous like the web. For maximum anonymity, use the web channel.
